Disassemble & check

The winch gearbox is disassembled, thoroughly cleaned and all components carefully checked.

Damaged parts are replaced and the bearings are usually completely renewed.

The winch is fitted with new seals and filled with fresh oil.

Completion & approval

The winch gearbox receives a new specification for the calculated service life and the overhaul is certified in accordance with BGV D6.

FAQs

What does a winch overhaul include?

 The winch gearbox is dismantled, cleaned and inspected, damaged parts are replaced and the bearings are usually renewed completely. The winch is then reassembled with new seals and fresh oil. 

Is the overhaul certified?

Yes. The winch gearbox is assigned a new theoretical service life, and the overhaul is certified in accordance with BGV D6 (German accident-prevention regulation for cranes).

Are exchange winches available?

Yes. For many mobile cranes, Köhler keeps overhauled winches in stock, which reduces downtime.
